Lizard Toes

I just added two new colorways to the shop. I’ve got 5 lbs of yarn ready to be dyed which will be happening tomorrow. The colorways are Shoved and Women’s Work.  Shoved is becoming one of my favorites even though I normally don’t go for pink. 

I think tomorrow while I’m dyeing I’m going to experiement more with lots of dark colors and a few bright spots.  I really like the way those colorways look.  But then it seems like every time I have a dyeing plan it ends up in the crapper anyway.  I’m easily distracted and tend toward impulse when dyeing.

I’ve gotten the new stitch markers half made. I’ll do the other half today and take some pics and get them listed.

And in newly exciting news!!! I’ve got two brand new yarns heading my way. A luscious (and I do mean luscious) merino/cashmere/nylon sock yarn and an equally luscious (but cooler wearing) merino/bamboo sock yarn. The merino/bamboo has an incredible sheen and really lovely hand. As a matter of fact I think I’m probably going to be ’stealing’ some of it for myself to dye up and knit a cardi out of.

The merino/cashmere/nylon blend is just…pure indulgence. It’s so soft and warm and the base yarn isn’t the typical whitish yellow of most yarns, it’s a lovely brownish gray instead. A light color to be sure, but it’s sure to add lots of depth to the colors when I dye it.

Hopefully I’ll have my new yarn in my hands soon and I can get to dyeing. I still have 4 or 5 lbs of my Spanky to dye up too. I’m about to order more top to dye and this all means I’m going to be one busy little beaver in the coming weeks!

In about 2.5 seconds the pound of Samira I was winding went from inventory to crap as it slid off the skein winder and into a puddle on the floor, hopelessly tangled. Urgh.

In other news, the supplies for my deluxe stitch markers have arrived. 24k gold plated laser cut beads are gorgeous I should have them up in the shop in a day or two, lots of great styles and I’m working on some crochet markers as well. Don’t want to forget the hookers!

After much typing, clicking and scrutinizing the new shop is finally up and live!  Check it out and let me know what you think.  I’ll be posting details about a contest soon, so stay tuned!

In dyeing news, the Samira is finally dry, I’ll be getting some of that popular merino/cashmere/nylon sock yarn soon and I’ll also be introducing a line of deluxe stitch markers.  What’s so deluxe about them?  Well, I guess you’ll just have to wait and see, won’t you?

I’ve found a new venue to sell from.  I have put up some new colorways (the stuff from the last entry, in fact) and am slowly stocking it with my regular products.  Over the next couple of weeks I’ll be creating a full inventory of product in the shop.  Including some more new colorways and other yarns.

Check it out, I like the interface very much, it’s clean and customizable and the cheaper monthly bill means I won’t have to raise my prices any, which makes us all happy

I’m very excited to have my own business URL.  Hopefully this will become a good source of information and let my current customers know what’s planned, what’s going on and when new updates will arrive in the shop.

I just did a bunch of dyeing these past few days.  The yarns below will be in the shop soon.  The hankies I dyed for myself.  I think for a shawl, I’m not sure, but certainly for lace in some form.  I’ve also got some more of that fabulous Samira marinating in the dye pot.  It should be up in a few days.  You can tell all the fruit trees and flowers are blooming in the yard.   The color is infectious!  I couldn’t help but try to create my own riot of color.
